September 24th, 2005 5th Annual Pumpkin Pickin Party

The day started off with rain and cold. Ended up at weighoff time still being cold but the rain and left. Ended up with 15 giants and 10 Jack-O-Lanterns. Eveyone had a good time. There was plenty of chili and pumpkin pie for every one. I must apolagize for the photos. I turned my 13 year old loose with the camera. I got a lot of picture of peoples backsides as their pumpkins were being weighed. I was able to get pics of my own pumpkins the next day but as for the rest I am sorry.

I will try to post so pics in the next few days. Highlights of the day. My 504 was enough for me to keep my 200 bucks. Cliff Warren's new personal best at 494.5 pounds. Steve Hatton's new personal best at 455 pounds. Jeff Danielson's 90 pound Howden Biggie Lowlights of the day Cliffs 597# pumpkin easily outclassed the rest but it split a whole in it about 10 days ago. Three other giant pumpkins grown in Idaho were weighed at an event in Montana (743, 696, 637). Wish they could have been here. Congratulations to Rick Maggi a second year grower from Bonner's Ferry.
