| We loaded up the entire gang and went to Camby for the weighoff there. I had no hopes of winning or anything like that. Its just fun to see some big pumpkins and rub shoulders with the heavy hitters. I ended up taking 10th place with my 857 (which wieghed 842 by the time it got there) Blake place 3rd in the JR division. There was not the size of pumpkins there that there had been in previous years. I'm not sure if the Northwest had a tough year, did Half Moon Bay weighoff 2 days later detract fromt he weighoff or what the deal was. We turned it into a family vacation and took a couple of extra days to see the sights. We went through northern California to see the redwood forests and those are impressive. I really would have liked to spent more time hiking through them. |

| The pictures do not capture the majesty and immense size of these trees. I was hoping for a nice picture with the trees and the pumpkins but they didn't really turn out as I had hoped. Time to start the fall patch work. I got the garden disked yesterday. Now to spread the 50 bales of straw and probably 50 bales of Hay. The leaves are piling up and I need to collect as many as I can in the next week or so. |
